Song Title:  Circus Day!

Music by:  Lessing, Monaco (rec. 1928 Haywire Mac)

Lyrics by:  Lessing, Monaco, D.M. Blackthorn Samantha X, H. Burns

Meter / Style:  Oom-pah Circus

Story:  Based on a recording of Harry McClintock's song "Circus Days" recorded in 1928, this version has differing lyrics, including many of the characters from the 999 EYES authentic human oddities freakshow, and is, in fact, the show’s theme song.

Lyrics:

Oh my little honey, pin a rose on me / For I’m just as happy as a bumblebee
We must see that big parade, / Hear that old-tyme music play
Got to see THAT Damned Band marching down the street / Got to save my money for the Oddities
Oh, see them! / Oh, hear them! / Ain’t those freaks just grand?! / Let’s GO! Let’s GO! Let’s go to see the freakshow!

On Circus Day, just see that clown with no pants, / See the dancing dwarf do her little dance / Watch the half-girl break a board,
As the elephant man wields his sword / Look out for the Leopard man, he’s a fright he will bite /
On circus day – just comes around but once a year / Oh, my honey, ain’t you glad you’re here?
That Museum we’ll investigate, / As Lobster folk pinch and pestigate, / All on circus day!
